Rep. Tom Dent tells KTTH’s Jason Rantz it’s time for DCYF Secretary Ross Hunter ‘to move on’

Rep. Tom Dent, who spearheaded creation of the Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) in 2017, says it’s time for DCYF Secretary Ross Hunter “to move on.” Dent, R-Moses Lake, made that statement in a radio interview with Jason Rantz on Seattle’s KTTH.

Members of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE), a union that represents 47,000 state workers, have launched a no-confidence vote against Hunter.

Dent notes serious issues exist within DCYF that are not good for Washington’s children, and he believes a leadership change is needed to address the problems and move forward.
