Rep. Tom Dent joins the Pacific Northwest Ag Network to discuss ag-related issues as the Legislature enters its final few weeks of the session
Rep. Tom Dent, R-Moses Lake, joins Glenn Vaagen on the Pacific Northwest Ag Network to discuss Senate Bill 5439, the livestock ID legislation making its way through the Legislature and an elk management program bill (House Bill 1849), and its prospects of becoming law.
Dent also touches on some of his bills related to wildfires and aviation.
- House Bill 1032 would mitigate the risk of wildfires through electric utility planning and identification of best management practices of each electric utility’s circumstances.
- House Bill 1243 would provide another tool for communities to manage municipal airports.
- House Bill 1498, the “Aviation Assurance Funding” bill in response to wildland fires. Prime-sponsored by Rep. Mary Dye and co-sponsored by Rep. Dent.
There were other issues and legislation discussed during the interview including Dent’s House Bill 1019 that would create a pesticide advisory board.
