Rep. Tom Dent to KXL Talk Radio Host Lars Larson: Changes needed at DCYF, starting at the top
Rep. Tom Dent, R-Moses Lake, one of the architects of the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), tells KXL's Lars Larson they weren't just “rearranging the deck chairs” when they decided to create a new state agency in 2017. Lawmakers wanted real reforms and to change the culture with the child welfare system. But Dent says those reforms haven't come about — and children are dying. Dent says the responsibility lies at the top with Secretary Ross Hunter — and he says Hunter needs to go.
