Rep. Dent speaks in favor of amendment on linkage bill moving authority to Dept. of Agriculture

Rep. Dent speaks in favor of amendment to the Carbon Market Linkage (CML) bill that would move move the authority of the linkage agreements from the Department of Ecology to the Department of Agriculture.

The CML legislation (SB 6058) would link the state’s Climate Commitment Act energy policy to programs in California and Quebec, likely driving up energy costs.

The bill passed the House of Representatives on a party-line vote, with Republicans voting “no.”
