Rep. Tom Dent joins KOZI Radio to discuss the bills and issues he working on as the session enters the final stretch
In this legislative update, Rep. Tom Dent, R-Moses Lake, joins Jeff Conwell on KOZI Radio to update folks on the legislative session news and some of the bills and issues he is working on.
Dent discussed his House Bill 2347 which would repeal the luxury aircraft tax passed in the 2025 session. Dent is not sure if the bill will get through but his working with the Senate to potentially get the measure into a different piece of legislation.
Dent also talked about mental health in agriculture and House Bill 2104 which would eliminate the sunset clause on legislation passed in 2023. The policy allows local fire departments that use aviation suppression efforts during the initial attack on brush, timber, and grass fires to be reimbursed by the state for those expenses.
