Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The 2026 legislative session adjourned in March. I hope you have received my hardcopy newsletter in the mail. It covers several important issues including budget updates, an overview of the income tax, legislation I worked on, and much more.

If you did not receive the mailer, click here to review it. I hope you find it informative and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Election-year restrictions

On Monday, May 4, election-year restrictions go into effect for those of us up for election this November. My legislative communications, such as this email update, will be restricted until after the November election is certified. However, I am still your state representative year-round.

I can still respond to constituents who contact me throughout the year. I am also available to meet with or speak to your community group, organization or association.

With that, I encourage you to email or call me anytime. You will find my contact information below at the bottom of the page.

Caucus meetings

As many of you know, I chair or co-chair many caucus meetings outside of Olympia, including the aviation, wildfire, and water caucuses. I plan to hold meetings this interim for all those groups. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about meeting dates and times. I will do my best to let you know when we will be holding those meetings.

We are planning on an Aviation Caucus meeting on June 11 at the Grant County International Airport. Those of you on my Aviation Caucus contact list will receive updated details in the near future. However, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Buffalo BBQ and KIT Radio

During the legislative sessions, KIT Radio regularly has legislators on its program to get updates on what is happening in Olympia. The KIT radio hosts have repeatedly asked me when I was going to let them try some buffalo burgers, since, in my day job, I raise buffalo. This week, I fired up the grill when Reps. Deb Manjarrez and Gloria Mendoza met with KIT during their 14th District media tour. The legislators provided them with an overview of the 2026 legislative session, while I provided lunch and buffalo burgers. Thank you to KIT for the opportunity to share our message with constituents during the session and throughout the year.

Again, please do not hesitate to contact me this interim if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas. I am also available for meetings. I look forward to seeing you this interim.

It is an honor and privilege to serve the people of the 13th District.

Sincerely,

Tom Dent
